Terroir

The soil is clayey and deep although there is more limestone in the upper part of the parcel. These vines are situated at the start of the slope and face east.

Tasting

The wine expresses itself through freshness and fruit. Its structure is complex and deep, its substance rich; it is opulent without being heavy.

Vintage

The year of balance through freshness. In other words, it was a cold winter, followed by a mild spring then a cool and slightly damp summer. The harvest was late and the mildness of September allowed the grapes to achieve an excellent maturity without losing acidity. As the crop was 40% below normal, it goes without saying that the wines achieve a rare level of intensity. The reds are well-coloured, rich and powerful and gifted with good acidity; they reflect their climats with sincerity. The whites are crystalline in structure and rich in aromas well typifying their appellation. In general, there is good keeping potential for both colours (5 to 15 years).
